New Brush Truck

Updated: March 31, 2020

Over the last few years the Apparatus Committee has been working on design of a new Brush Truck to replace the 1968 Jeep Willies that was taken out of service a year ago after it suffered engine problems.  The company has applied for grants and after 2 years the company decided to move forward with the project. At the November Fire Company meeting we decided to accept a contract with KME to build our new apparatus.  On November 20th, 2018 the committee signed the contract and on December 20th the committee will be traveling to KME for a pre-construction meeting.  The committee decided to build on a F550 Ford Chassis w/ a custom box with a EJ Metals Twin Pump Skid Unit.  This unit will be used as a multiple purpose piece of apparatus.  It will have vehicle extrication tools, brush equipment, structural fire equipment, ems equipment, and much more.  Due to much of our coverage area being in the woods sometimes access to houses and personal property can be very tough with bigger apparatus.  This unit could be utilized as first due structural piece if there is an access issue.  This unit will have 200 gallons of water, 20 gallons of A Foam, 1 - 1 3/4 pre-connect (200 ft.), 150 ft. of .5 inch hose on UHP Reel,  300 ft. Forestry Hose (deadlay), 1 - 1.5 inch Rear Discharge.
